Scope

Hawkins engaged Farrell Construction to provide carpentry services for the new gymnasium at the Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology (now Ara Institute of Canterbury). Part of a larger campus redevelopment, the new sports facility was designed to provide modern sport and recreation spaces for students and the wider community.

Process

Farrell supplied foremen and a team of 20+ trade-qualified carpenters to deliver the full carpentry and general builder’s work packages. Working collaboratively with Hawkins as a construction delivery partner within a live environment construction project, our team ensured the project was completed to the required standard and on programme.

Result

The gymnasium now serves Ara’s students and wider Christchurch community, providing a purpose-built contemporary sports facility that will support their A-game for years to come.
