Scope
Mainfreight’s new warehouse facility in Hornby is a circa 20,000m², large-scale industrial development designed to support high-volume freight and logistics operations, with a focus on efficiency, durability, and speed of delivery. Our role encompassed the delivery of heavy foundations and the installation of precast concrete panels, forming a critical part of the building’s structural envelope and requiring absolute structural precision.
Process
This package included the meticulous set-out and construction of pad and strip footings, ground beams, and close coordination with services and slab preparation to ensure total accuracy and readiness for vertical construction.
We managed the full precast installation process, including site logistics, heavy cranage coordination, panel sequencing, and final installation. Working with massive, large-format panels in a fast-paced commercial construction environment required highly detailed planning, strict adherence to Tier-1 health and safety compliance, and precise execution to achieve exacting alignment tolerances and structural integrity.
Result
Operating within a tightly managed, programme-driven environment, our team coordinated closely with our client (Envision Eighty20) and other onsite trades to maintain momentum and meet key structural milestones. Our ability to seamlessly integrate complex groundwork and vertical structure delivery ensured a seamless transition through critical early phases of the build.
This project highlights our capability to deliver heavy structural elements safely and efficiently, combining foundational engineering expertise with large-scale precast installation across complex industrial developments.
