Scope

PB Tech is New Zealand’s largest computing and IT retailer, with a presence across the country. Farrell Construction was engaged as the Main Contractor under a lump-sum bid to deliver their new Christchurch headquarters. This commercial construction project involved the delivery of a 600m² warehouse and retail showroom, integrated with a two-storey, 400m² office building to support their South Island operations.

Process

The construction comprised a gravel raft foundation with beam base on slab, and high-efficiency concrete tilt-panel structure and com-floor system for the office levels. This was complemented by extensive shopfront glazing to the retail frontage. As the construction delivery partner, Farrell's also managed all associated civil works and site infrastructure. Our in-house carpentry team self-performed all structural and finishing trades.

Result

The project reached practical completion in approximately eight months—two months ahead of the primary timeframe—meeting all budget and quality expectations. The new Christchurch headquarters provide PB Tech with modern, future-proofed facilities to support its operations and growth in the South Island.
