Farrell Construction was engaged under a Design and Build contract to deliver 10 double-storey residential dwellings in Merivale, one of Christchurch’s most sought-after premium suburbs. Working in partnership with Hierarchy Architecture and ENGCO Engineers, the objective was to deliver modern, premium living spaces that met both strict architectural standards and rigorous budget criteria.

The development was constructed on a gravel raft foundation with slab, timber framing and structural steel, and timber joist mid-floors. Long-run roofing and EZpanel concrete cladding with a coloured finish were complemented by high-quality internal finishes. As the construction delivery partner, Farrell’s in-house carpentry team self-performed all structural and finishing elements, from the initial foundation work and framing to the high-quality cladding and interior fit-out.

Completed in just 10 months, the project successfully delivered 10 contemporary units that combine comfort, style and practicality. The end result is a high-quality residential development that provides modern living in a sought-after location, creating long-term value for both residents and the developer.
